After Pentecost, the Book of Acts tells us:  "Awe was occuring in every soul, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the Apostles.  All the believers were at the same place and they had everything in common and no one was saying that their property was their own, but  they were selling and distributing their possessions so that everyone had their needs met.  And day by day they were devoting themselves to the Apostles' teaching and the prayers, and with one mind they were together in the Temple, and were breaking bread in each others' houses with glad and generous hearts, sharing food with exultation and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people.  And the Lord was adding to their number those that were being saved."  (Acts 2:42-47)
